Typical Insulated Chimney Offset Installation

Depicted to the right is a Single Storey
Basement Chimney With Offset Installation.

Offsets are used to go around an obstruction to
maintain clearances in an installation
without modifying the building structure.

The principle is the same for all installation types.

All insulated chimney passing through a
living space must be enclosed!

Ideally offsets should be avoided, as they
increase required chimney stack height and
make it harder to clean & inspect the chimney.

If a straight installation is at all possible,
you should consider another location.
