Solid Fuel Appliance Chimney Stack Height Calculator

Most appliances require a minimum stack height, typically 12 to 15 feet.
Check the appliance manual, as this measurement could be from either:
a) the floor of the appliance or b) the top of the appliance.
This measurement includes the vertical stove pipe and insulated chimney.

The stack height that is needed to compensate for changes any in elevation, elbows,
horizontal sections, offsets or tees used in your installation will automatically be calculated.

Appliance Minimum Vertical Stack Height @ Sea Level
Add 0.6' for each Addition 1000' Of Elevation
Add 0.7' for each 2 x 15° - Chimney Offset
Add 1.3' for each 4 x 15° - Chimney Offset
Add 1.3' for each 2 x 30° - Chimney Offset
Add 2.7' for each 4 x 30° - Chimney Offset
Add 1.0' for each 45° - Stove Pipe Elbow
Add 2.0' for each 90° - Stove Pipe Elbow
Add 2.0' for each 1' Horizontal Stove Pipe
Add 3.0' for each Tee - Chimney or Stove Pipe
Total Adjusted Required Vertical Stack Height
