The Maxx-M requires one of the following forms of hearth protection
if not installed directly on concrete poured on earth:
1)The factory provided hearth shield can be installed
to satisfy the floor protection requirement,
2) Any ULC, or Warnock Hersey Listed Type 1 hearth board,
3) 20 gauge sheet metal or non-combustible material - ceramic tile, stone, brick, etc..

If the factory hearth shield is not installed as per manual instructions,
the unit must be installed with a minimum of 6” of floor protection
in front of and to the sides of the door opening.
