The Jøtul F 500 Oslo includes a bottom heat shield which must be installed
unless the stove is on a concrete floor poured on earth.

The Jøtul F 500 Oslo requires one of the following forms of hearth protection
if not installed directly on concrete poured on earth:
1) Any UL, ULC, or Warnock Hersey Listed Type 1 hearth board.
2) Any non-combustible material.

In Canada, floor protection must extend 18" from the front of the stove
and 8" from the sides and rear of the stove.
It must also extend 2" under the chimney connector, if rear vented.
This results in a minimum floor protector 56" x 50-1/2"

Alternate hearth protection:
A hearth pad measuring 46" wide X 50-1/2" deep (1168mmx1283mm)
can be used only if the left side door is locked to prevent use.
Door Lock Kit #155850 is available for this purpose.
